Varine is currently the chief for the Justice Security Operations Center (JSOC), US Dept. of Justice - Criminal Division. Prior to this role, he was director of cyber incident management for the Joint Cyber Security Coordination Center (JC3) at the US Department of Energy where he managed the operation of the JC3, which is the focal point for all cyber security information within the department. He also lead the deployment of Enhanced Cybersecurity Services (ECS) within the department making the Department of Energy the first federal agency able to utilize classified intelligence data on unclassified networks.
