On Tuesday, Information Security Media Group will host a one-day Fraud & Breach Summit in the Emerald City that will focus on the most critical issues facing CISOs and their security teams.

This is the first time that ISMG has brought its Fraud & Breach Summit series to Seattle.

The day's event will include in-depth discussions on such key issues as managing third-party risk; the role that ethics plays in the developing field of artificial intelligence and machine learning; the challenge of compliance with the Europe Union's General Data Privacy Regulation and California's Consumer Privacy Act; and the role that law enforcement play in investigating and tracking down cybercrime.

Anne-Marie Scollay, the CISO of Axiom Law, will address a different kind of insider threat. "Through a growing number of technologies, insider threat management primarily focuses on the malicious insider and the imposter insider," Scollay tells ISMG. "What about the accidental insider? Attendees will hear about real-life examples of accidental insiders and strategies that have helped reduce the threat from this type of insider."

Hosted by Tom Field, ISMG's senior vice president for editorial, the Fraud and Breach Summit gives attendees the opportunity to hear and meet some of the nation's most influential cybersecurity leaders, including:

  • Keynote speaker and HSBC whistleblower Everett Stern, who will speak about uncovering fraud at one of the world's largest banks;
  • Bryan Seely, an ethical hacker and consultant, who will discuss cybercrime and what it's like to wiretap both the Secret Service and the FBI;
  • Cris Ewell, the CISO of UW Medicine, who will give an executive overview of how to manage third-party risk;
  • Diana Kelley, the cybersecurity field CTO of Microsoft, who will examine the ethical issues surrounding AI and machine learning;
  • Timothy Hunt, a member of the Seattle Field Office Electronic Crimes Task Force of the U.S. Secret Service, who will provide insights on the challenges facing law enforcement when it comes to cybercrime investigations.

An end-of-the day discussion will review the do's and don'ts following a data breach.

Whether you're a CISO looking to connect to your peers, or a security professional eager to learn more about the topics and trends that could affect your company, ISMG's Fraud & Breach Summit in Seattle will help you expand your knowledge base with the latest insights into information security.
